SWP Fingered Out Southgate

Have you ever played football with or against someone you know to be perfectly nice, only to see them turn into a raging animal on the field? Football does the strangest things to people.
Take miniature Man City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and ‘Boro boss Gareth Southgate for example. Two of the more mild-mannered men in football. But when SWP went down under what Southgate thought was a fair tackle on Wednesday night, the pair got into some verbals and it ended with SWP giving Southgate the finger.

If you’re not from the UK, you’ll be wondering why it’s two fingers and not one. But trust me, SWP’s not giving Southgate the peace sign. Two fingers in the UK is the same as the middle finger in the US. But the English FA don’t care what two fingers means in Pennsylvania. They care about what it means in the Premier League and will be investigating the matter.
