Van Persie is he Mr.Arsenal...

No one player conjures the success of a team, but it's inevitable that the presence of Robin van Persie in Arsenal's XI makes it way formidable. Perhaps criticism of Arsenal's credentials could have been less if he was punctual. It takes arguments for a player's valuation to be recognized, but you don't need statistics to know that injuries is what puts Van Persie behind Cesc Fabregas for the "Mr. Arsenal" title.

It's frustrating, also like a roller coaster, but not as fun, sometimes you want to consult the player himself and perhaps man him up - Van Persie's injury plagued years at Arsenal makes one ask, why? just why?, can't a man keep his feet up for a bit.

It's not really the Dutchman's fault, he did suffer metatarsal (foot bone) breaks even in his football infancy. While at Feyenord, it wasn't easy either, but one thing should be admired of the 24 year old - despite the constant obstacles, he has done a lot for Arsenal, precisely, 43 sweet volleys, thunderous free kicks, and pin point strikes in 133 appearances.

Emmanuel Adebayor who gained a lot from his usual absence last season, netted 30 goals (46 overall), which now over thrones the Dutchman from the list of all time top scorers in the current squad.

Of course, Van Persie would arguably have nearly doubled that tally last season, if he had the chance to benefit from Thierry Henry's void like Adebayor. A better finisher and a game winner he is, Van Persie only needs strength to frame it all at Arsenal, as a real hero. The Rotterdam born man himself doesn't deny that either.

“Last year I missed too many games and I am still disappointed about it." he said.“But that is life. That is football and things can happen. I accepted it. This is a new year with new chances. Hopefully I can be injury-free this year. Last year I played 16 games and scored seven goals — that is nearly one out of two. It is not too bad. I just want to have the same results this season with a few more matches.”

There is no superstition that suggests Van Persie will swallow the games up all of a sudden, but we can only be optimistic that such a player will not perish just because of health but not talent.
